Folio Nine in 46 languages
Folio Nine sells website templates. Its catalogue and two template demos were translated from English into 45 more languages with the kaeris command-line tool, then built and checked. Below are real strings from the live pages, the numbers from those runs, what had to be fixed by hand, and what has not been reviewed yet.
Before and after, on the live demos
The English source, then the same string as it is served today. Each demo has its own address for every language, such as /ru/ or /ja/. Copied from the pages on 2 November 2026.

What was checked by running it
Every number below comes from a command that was run on the result, not from reading the files.
| What | Result | Checked with |
|---|---|---|
| Catalogue strings shown in the page's language | 99.16% of 25,714; before the run, 53.85% | A script that counts visible strings on every built page |
| Catalogue strings left in English | 217 (0.84%): words such as Support, FAQ and Demo, and the abbreviation LCP | The same count |
| Catalogue build | 508 pages in 46 locales | npm run build |
| Titles, descriptions and language links | 0 issues | npm run verify:seo |
| Templates and types | 0 errors | npm run check |
| Live demos | Russian, Ukrainian, German, Japanese and Arabic answer with a translated title on both demos | An HTTP request to each address, 2 November 2026 |
| Verandah, a fourth template, not public yet | 45 languages: 260 interface strings and 31 listings in each | The template's build |
Verandah placeholders such as {n} and {price} | 0 mismatches across 45 dictionaries | A script that compares placeholders with the English file |
| Verandah listings still identical to English | 0 of 1,395 | A script that compares each listing with its English source |
What had to be fixed by hand
The run did not end with a finished site. These are the problems found afterwards.
- KAERIS translated values that the template uses as fixed codes in Markdown front matter, the
includedandenergyfields, and the Verandah build failed on its schema. The values were put back from the English files by a script. The bug is found and reproduced in KAERIS; the fix is in progress. - In 11 files a literal
\rwas left at the end of lines. It was removed and the site rebuilt. - The Arabic description of the template licence said the opposite of the English one: that the source code is published. It was rewritten.
- The Japanese search descriptions were padded with filler to reach the length the SEO check asks for. They were rewritten with real facts.
- An Arabic spelling of the place name Vell Alt, فيل ألت, reads as the word for elephant. Place names were then made consistent, one spelling per language.
Limits
Machine-translated and checked by back-translation; not reviewed by native speakers yet.
- None of the 46 languages has been read by a native speaker.
- An editing pass, not by native speakers, covered Arabic, Japanese, Russian and Ukrainian, and only the catalogue.
- The legal pages in the other 41 languages were checked only by
--verify. - 217 catalogue strings are still English, as listed above.
- Verandah has no public demo yet.
The command
The general shape of the run. --keep is the do-not-translate list, --context says what the site is, and --verify translates every result back to English and writes the lines worth a second look to a file.
kaeris translate <source files> --langs <codes> \ --keep "Folio Nine,Astro,…" \ --context "<what the site is and who reads it>" \ --verify
